Black & white picture grouping from a photo "album" in Oak Harbor Mirth Hoffman Hall Collection. 2019.051.024 FRONT: Top Photo - 4.5"W x 3"H - Photo of Indian potlatch house which stood near Monroe Landing on Penn Cove as late as the 1920s.The building was constructed of sawed lumber and shingles which replaced the early day long-houses. No date. Bottom News Article - newspaper article about the Dec. 1, 1897 "Boston" wedding of Lizzie Schnapps, daughter of one of the Coupeville's "first"Indian families, to Harry Francis of LaConner. 2019.051.024 BACK: Top Photo - 4.5"W x 3"H - Photo of the S. S. Atlanta on the water. The caption beneath the picture says, " Daily passenger boat between Oak Harbor and Seattle. Replaced the Calista, sunk by a Japanese freighter in a heavy fog in 1922." Bottom Photo - 5" W x 3"H - Photo of a Chas. Wolfson car at Pamona Day in Oak Harbor. The car is on the left side of the picture with two men in the front seat and two men & a woman in the back seat. A boy on a bicycle is on the right side of the photo and a large group of men, women & children are standing on the steps of a building looking down at the car. The caption beneath the picture says, "Chas. Wolfson Car. It was similar in construction to Edgar Power's first car. Note - steering wheel on right side, bulb horn, brake & high gear levers on driver's right outside car body. Edgar & Grace Power above box."
