Description

Chinese gin jug, also called a 'Tiger Whiskey' jug. Jug is in good condition with expection of a chip on the base. Brown in color. "Donated by Mimi Bouchee on 5/5/2015 with the following letter: Several years ago Whidbey News Times had an article about a lady who was raised on the island, Lillian Huffstetler. She talked about early times and there was a photo with some old items in it. One was one of these jugs. I called her about it and she called it a Gin Jug. The Chinese workmen her would go to Seattle on the ship and buy their "beverage" in this type of containers. That's about all I know of it. I bought it at a garage sale years ago. It was filled with some ugly plastic flowers. I have been using it as a vas for real flowers in my garden. I believe Lillian worked at the museum. She was "Dean" relation, probably Orlan's.
