Description

"Chalk doll" made of plaster. White with red and gold paiting. Eyes are made of glued on paper material. Holes in both sides of head contain remnants of orange "hair". One of 2 dolls donated at the same time. Reported to have been won by Maxene's father (Max Sibon) at a carnival game at Penn Cove Water Festival in Coupeville in the mid-1930's. Donated by Maxene Varga in the name of her mother, Verna Coates Sibon in her honor. Maxene found the item in her grandparents attic - Smith House.
