Welch Alleyn Otoscope and accompanying parts inside a oblong box with metal clasp. The box is wood covered with blackened leather (scuffed) and red felt (?) lining inside. Most of the equipment was produced by W.A.CO.AUBURN, N.Y.
The otoscope body is made of brass, and used to be fully painted black, but this has mostly come off. Stainless steel (?) is used to make its other parts, as well as plastic. There is some slight rusting in places. Patent no. is 2023945
Also in the box are four plastic nozzles. A dark green, two lighter greens and one black which is shorter than the others.
2 little light bulbs. Another lens piece of metal and glass with metal nozzle and rubber piping attached, which is stoppered with a white plastic cylindrical piece with a hole through it. A mirror instrument like dentists use (circular mirror on long metal rod). This has engraved in a cross: BOILO and a 3 below it.
Inside a little cardboard box (ONE UNI-PAK LAMP FOR OTOSCOPE) (made by Kennedy-Webster, Chicago) are three metal screws with little glass/plastic nodules at one end.
2 syringes of different sizes, both made of glass and metal. The larger and wider is labelled in red from 1 to 5cc and says, "HYPO Surgical Supply Corp. Interchangeable" and is marked twice is a G logo (?). The smaller is also marked with red, 0 to 40 units/ 1cc, marked R 5928, Use U-40 only, and "Ideal" "Property of the US"
