Silver coffeepot, circa 1850's, owned by Caroline Terry Kellogg who was given item as a wedding gift when she wed Dr. John Coe Kellogg in 1847. She is said to have carried it with her along the Oregon Trail in 1852 during passage to the northwest.

In general states the donor, Barbara H Stenson Spaeth, is the widow of Earl Cahail who was the great-grandson of Caroline Terry & Dr. John Coe Kellogg - grandson of Albert & Edit Dillion Kellogg - son of Alice Stella Kellogg Cahail. She states she could not locate any makers mark on the coffeepot & how it was passed down in the family.
