Abstract of Title for a portion of Thomas Coupe's Land Claim on Whidbey Island as follows: "Bounded North by Penn's Cove, South by John Crockett's Claim, West by Mr. Alexander's claim, and East by a line as the inclusion of 320 acres of land . . ."
The first Land Claim Notice filed in this Abstract is by C. H. Ivans, dated August 2nd, 1853. The second Land Claim Notice filed in this Abstract is by Thomas Coupe, dated April 3rd, 1854, and states "Thomas Coupe claims 320 acres of land on Whidby's Island County, Washington Territory . . . . Bounded on the West by the land claim of John Alexander and on the South by the land claim of John Crockett, on the East by a stake on Penn's Cove, running one half mile front on Penn's Cove, to include 320 acres of land for himself and his wife."
