Photograph (postcard) of a woman, young man and girl child. Woman is in dress, belt, big buckle, jabot or lace collar with a pin. Young man in a suit. Young girl in a dress, high-topped shoes, big bow in her hair. Written on back:: " Photo of: Carl & Jessie Pearson with dau. Merrill." A note in fading ink: "My dear Mrs. Race, Here is our family group. Any one would think Carl and I had no eyes for anything or anyone but Merrill, though of course, that is not the case (these last five words are underlined individually). Love to all - Jessie M." There is more written: "Carl's father Daniel Pearson bought the Haller property on the waterfron in Coupeville also conducted a store in Coupeville. He bought the "Harmon" property which was the south portion of Alexander D. C. His daughter Flora A. P. married Wm. Engle a pioneer of note. Daniel left Whidbey and founded the twon of Stanwood (named for his wife's family). Carl was born in "Stanwood" (first white child) Later Carl held public office Island Co. He then published the "Island County Times" paper. He married Jessie Hosom - daughter (Merrill) W.P.R." AZO postcard issued 1904-1918.
