Meerschaum Pipe. Carved image of angel cutting wood & standing on books on pipe bowl. Contains what appears to be crack repair on the shank. White cord with blue bead attached. No Stem.
Found in collection with note as follows:
"It was my grandfather's, Thomas Albert Burrier of Knoxville, Tennessee. It may have been his father's, or grandfathers, a Bob Brown who made the madrdona wood stem, says he researched it and it id from 200-400 years old. Sterline silver trim. The stem of madrona wood includes goat horn and cow horn. Grandfather Burrier served in the Confederated Army in the Civil War. He and my grandmother Hannah Eliza Ristine Burrier had two daughters and four sons. My father Harry Lee Burrier was the youngest. He died in 1948 in Oak Harbor.
