He thought he was going to do an interview with Lorna Cherry. The family took his memorabilia and decorated Brookhaven with it. He walked in and started stating "I have a fishing rod just like that! I have a toy tractor just like that!" Then everyone yelled Happy birthday. The famiy got away with hosting a surprise birthday for him on his 70th, 80th, and 90th. He passed away January 30, 2007 at his home in Langley.
