Black & white picture grouping from a photo "album" in the Oak Harbor Ed Weidenbach Collection. 2019.051.080 Front: Top Photo - 4.25"W x 3.5"H - Newspaper clipping entitled, " Hollanders Arrived First in 1894 on "Idaho". The article describes the arrival of Hollanders to North Whidbey from the east & midwest aboard the steamer "Idaho" in 1894. No date on the clipping. Bottom Photo - 3"W x 4"H - Newspaper picture of the Ann and Rance Zylstra honeymoon house. It belonged to Ann's parents, the L. B. Loers, Sr. The house is an old Victorian structure with a wraparound porch and a round turret with a dome on top. The clipping (which has no date) says the house was restored by Don & Sandi Pease, the current owners at the time of the article.
