Description

First one room school on Whidbey, built by the County on one acre of land from the Albert H. Kellogg farm on Smith's Prairie. Some time in the early 1890's it was turned into a private residence, John Beach home, as pictured. The U.S. Navy took over the whole Kellogg farm for an emergency landing air strip during WWII.
