Description

Postcard written by Minerva Ann "Minnie" LeSourd Bantz, addressed to Mr. E. J. Scoonover, 2436 N. Alabama St., Indianapolis, Indiana. The reverse of the postcard reads, "Coupeville, Sept. 10. '08. There was a mistake in the first report about commissioner -- John was defeated by 12 votes. He came second and the other man (the 3rd candidate) was only a few votes behind him. Sinse [sic] John lost out we are glad the man won, who did for that left the saloon candidate clear out of sight. We are all well, Charlie & Blanch go home tomorrow and I start for school. Minnie" It appears that Minnie is writing about her grandfather running for Island County Commissioner. C. 10 September 1908.
