Description

Earlund Louis Wahlberg carved this fine model of the clipper, "Glory of the Seas". He carved seven models of all the ships he'd sailed on, and all sported a working compass and great detail. Mr. Wahlberg was born in Sweden in 1864, and was buried in Coupeville's Sunnyside Cemetary in 1946, aged 82 years. He arrived in the United States in 1881, and "followed the sea" before taking up farming in the Coupeville area.
