Blue and yellow Sons of the American Revolution member rosette pin.

Context

The blue and yellow pin represents Mr. L.T. Jordan’s membership to the Sons of the American Revolution organization. The pin can be worn by all members on the coat lapel or tropical shift collar. The Sons of the American Revolution organization is a federally chartered patriotic organization formed in New York City 1889 to celebrate the living descendants of individuals who fought in the American Revolution. Mr. Jordan became a member of The Texas Society branch of the organization on June 14, 1973, as a descendent from Lieutenant Colonel Elijah Isaacks I. Lt. Col. Isaacks served as the second in command of the Wilkes County Regiment of militia from 1783-1779 in North Carolina. He also served as a representative to the North Carolina General Assembly from Wilkes County from 1778-1780 after proposing a bill to create the county in 1778. He later served as senator to the assembly in 1782 and 1783.
