Log cabin "summer" quilt, no batting ,made of 64 squares, 8 to a side
Squares approx. 10"x10", each with a red square for center which is traditional, depicting the hearth of the home.
Half of square is light prints other half dark prints, mostly grays, browns, some greens and blues. The. light fabrics are mostly men's shirtings, the darks probably calicos's from ladies dresses.
78" x 80"
All hand pieced to a muslin backing.
The binding is made up from variegated scraps of prints, thought to be a new trend in the 21st century.
