Description

friendship quilt white and tiny prints, "double pinks" 83"x88", light cotton batting, quilted 49 squares, 7 on a side, each approx. 10"x10" with 2" muslin sashing. Muslin backing and narrow muslin binding. each square has a signature in brown ink, sometimes with a town One end has a square missing in each corner to accommodate a four poster bed, a characteristic of New England quilts. Each patchwork square is a pattern of four crosses The quilt is all hand pieced and hand quilted, no machine stitching. Condition: Generally good with some staining and soiling.
