"The subscriber being authorized by Henry Knox Esq do hereby give permission to Jonathan Fletcher to occupy and improve a Lot of Land in the district of Canaan adjoining the lot on which said fletcher now lives on the southerly side of the Same for which said Fletcher is to pay Henry Knox Eight shillings per acre with interest from the date hereof untill paid"
