CHS003Description
After the iron artery "over the hill" to Santa Cruz had been severed, Los Gatos industries kept the freights rolling through town. In the 1940s, freight traffic was provided by Sewall L. Brown's apricot plant, the Hunt Brothers Cannery, Standard Oil on Farley Road, the winery at Sacred Heart Novitiate, and Sterling Lumber Company on University Avenue. CHS003Collection
