John W. Lyndon built his grand home overlooking Los Gatos in 1886 on the site now occupied by Los Gatos Meadows. The three-story Victorian was constructed of heart redwood and had a rambling porch, 6 fireplaces, two grand staircases, an elevator, and 24 rooms. The house was painted a deep orange-red on the bottom and a soft yellow-green above. It was dismantled in 1969. FAR015Collection
