"Rowdy" the dog sits in front of the American Legion Building on Park Avenue, near the Union Ice House, founded in 1884 by William C. Shore. (The Union Ice House originally sat approximately on the land occupied by the Post Office today, and moved to Park Avenue in 1922.) The men in the Shore family often went hunting for deer. MS013
