Description

Part of the Presidents from Ohio series. ""Since the Gay Fad Studios were located in Lancaster, OH from 1945-1962, it's not surprising that Gay Fad produced numerous Ohio commemorative pieces, the most famous being the "Presidents from Ohio" tumbler set that honors the eight U.S. Presidents born in Ohio, the "Cradle of Presidents." The front of each President's frosted tumbler features his portrait, a facsimile of his signature, and his year(s) in office with "Presidents From Ohio" above, all in brown, while the back shows his birthplace in brown with colorful accents. William H. Taft - 1909-1913 (America's 27th president; lost his bid for reelection; defeated by Woodrow Wilson; appointed as the tenth Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court by Warren G. Harding in 1921, the only person in U.S. history to hold both offices.) Tumbler stands 5-1/8" tall with a diameter of 2-3/4" at the rolled rim and not quite 2-3/8" at the base.
