Certificate From the State of California, Department of State:
"William C. Hendricks, Secretary of State of the State of California, do hereby certify that a copy of the Articles of Incorporation of the
First Methodist Episcopal Church of Benicia
certified by the County Clerk of the County of Solano as a copy of such Articles filed in his office, was filed in the office on the 17th day of May AD 1889, which Articles and the copy there of contained the required Statement of Facts, to wit, First, the name of the corporation as aforesaid; Second, the purpose for which it is framed; Third, the place where its principal business is to be transacted; Fourth, the term for which it is to exist; Fifth, the number of its directors or trustees, and the names and residences of those who are appointed for the first year.
And I do hereby further certify that the Articles of Incorporation set forth the holding of the election for directors, the time and place where the same was held that a majority of the members of such association were present and voted at such election and the result thereof; which facts were verified by the offiders conducting the election.
Witness my hand and the Great Seal of State at office in Sacramento, California, this the 17th day of May AD 1889."
