A historic Palestinian village in the Gaza subdistrict, situated approximately 30 km northeast of Gaza on hilly terrain along the southern coastal plain, with Wadi al-Faluja surrounding the village on three sides and roads connecting it to Gaza, Hebron, Jerusalem, Jaffa, and surrounding villages. Rain-fed agriculture was central to village life, with wheat, barley, vegetables, and fruit cultivated across the surrounding lands, while the village also served as a regional commercial center with a weekly market, shops, schools, a mosque, and a shrine.Also Known As
