Place Description

A historic Palestinian bridge and crossing site on the Jordan River, in the Baysan region, where a major north–south road crossed the river and connected the Baysan Valley with the eastern bank and Transjordan. The surrounding valley was agriculturally productive, with cereals, irrigated crops, and grazing lands supported by the Jordan River and the fertile soils of the Baysan Valley.
