A decorative, commemorative plate depicting San Francisco in 1846. The center of the plate depicts a scene with four ships in the ocean in the foreground, and hills with trees and a few roads and buildings in the background. Around the rim of the plate are various embossed depictions of California history, including a ship, cacti, missionaries, covered wagons, and trains.
