Name/Title

Camp Fire Girls Beaded Headband

Entry/Object ID

2011.172

Description

Velvet headband with elaborate beaded decoration along the front of the headband. The decoration depicts what appears to be a blue and orange tent in the center, with two possible bow and arrow symbols on each side, and two green swastikas flanking each of those symbols. The design borrows from Indigenous symbology, as the early Camp Fire Girls organization modeled many of their ceremonies and attire from Indigenous traditions.
