1863. The first general store and second lumber yard in Los Gatos was started by W.S. McMurtry and J.Y. McMillin, and was located on East Main Street where the Iron Gate Interiors is now located. In 1866 the general store and lumber yard was incorporated with Forbes Mill to become the Los Gatos Manufacturing Company.
