A taxidermied specimen of a Western Screech Owl, or Megascops kennicottii. The owl is perched on a tree branch, that is mounted into a base made to look like grass. The owl's wings are closed, and its head is turned so that it is looking off to its right. Family: Strigidae Genus: Megascops Species: M. kennicottii
