NU 2022.373Description
A collapsible orange parasol, with a wooden stick and handle. The umbrella cloth is light orange, with a hand-painted pink, white, and green floral pattern on the top. The point of the umbrella is painted black, with gold and silver script painted around it, possibly in Burmese. The stick portion of the handle has a darker brown leaf pattern on it, while the base of the handle is bulbous yellow, with a red strip at the top and red at the very end. The interior of the umbrella is supported with wooden supports, around which yellow string is woven. There is a ring around the handle that is covered in the same yellow yarn, coming out from that support structure, with two green tassels; when the umbrella is closed, the ring is used to secure it closed.Collection
