Bill -
I feel I must write this letter to let you know how disappointed in your refusal to even answer my phone messages. It really hurts to lose a friend over such a childish petty thing. Had I known several years ago I never would have given you my collection of Lexington history.
I know you have a quarrel with some of the people at Forbes Mill, but I am not them. Furthermore they are not on the board.
However, you make take some comfort in the fact that you are not the first one to turn on me, and each time it happens I vow to be more careful with the company I keep.
Thanks to you I will have to spend many hours, which I really don't have the energy for, to complete the September exhibit of 137 years of Schools in the Los Gatos Area.
I'm truly sorry you are afflicted in both mind and body at a time when friends should be valued, but I cannot abide someone who places such low value on my caring and friendship.
Bye

This letter was written to me by Mary Foster, History Curator of the Los Gatos Museum at Forbes Mill. She wanted me to provide information for her Los Gatos History Exhibits, but I did not help her because of the {unintelligible} attitude of Edith Smith, former History Curator, Pete Tiernan, President, Emerson Shaw, former History Curator, and Chatham Forbes who made fun of my 45 years of research on Los Gatos.Language
