Double KaleidoscopeEntry/Object ID
NU 2025.34Description
A double kaleidoscope contraption that appears to be handmade, consisting of two distinct and unrelated kaleidoscopes attached to a rectangular piece of wood with long golden chains. Both of the kaleidoscopes are cylindrical. For the larger one, the body is likely made out of plastic-coated paper, and is white with a black square pattern. The eyepiece consists of a circular hole cut in the metal, through which the mirrored interior is viewable. The view piece is solid red, and consists of colorful plastic pieces. For the smaller one, the body is also likely made out of plastic-coated paper, and has a white background with purple, pink, and red flowers. The eyepiece consists of a circular hole, through which the mirrored interior is viewable. The view piece has an abstracted purple floral patter, and consists of miniature versions of the artist's work.Collection
