Description

An empty bottle of Kentucky whiskey. The bottle is clear, with a large yellow label on the front and a large yellow label on the back. The top of the bottle, surrounding the opening, is silver, and the removable cork is in the opening.

It is difficult to date this exact bottle, but it states that it was bottled before Sept. 8, 1917. The distillery closed due to Prohibition in 1917. The label "Old Taylor Distillery" was revived by National Distillers in 1935, but this bottle is from the original distillery.

PERMIT No KY, P-9 U.S. INTERNAL REVENUE CONCENTRATION BONDED WAREHOUSE No 19 CAUTION NOTICE / This bottle has been filled and stamped under the permissions of the act of Congress approved March 3, 1897, entitled "An act to allow the bottling of distilled spirits in bond." Any person who shall re-use this bottle for the purpose of containing distilled spirits without removing and destroying the stamp affixed to this bottle or who shall re-use the stamp affixed to this bottle, will be liable for each such offense to a fine of not less than one hundred nor more than one thousand dollars, and imprisonment for not more than two years.
