2026.1.1Description
A mixed media art piece, consisting of oil paint, mineral pigment, acrylic, gold leaf, and glass on board. The artwork features a background of ocean waves, over which gold leaf is applied and rock-like figures are painted. Around the border of that board are two sections of crushed glass on a largely black background with hints of blue and gold. There are strips of LED lights behind the main board, above the glass sections, and can be turned and and which create an illuminating effect.Artwork Details

Collaboration in Practice
The artistic process is often a solitary endeavor; isolated, internal, perhaps even lonely until it is expressed in the chosen medium and given to the world. When artists decide to open themselves to the collaborative process it is a recognition of possibility, of growth, of the letting go of perfection, and ultimately the deepening of relationships. As Luo, Fujioka, and MACHIDA embarked on this work together, they discovered that the collaboration itself -- the process -- is the art.
