Set of four plaques. Each coaster has a birchbark center with a colored quill design. Surrounding the birchbark are three circles of dried grass/reeds, which are themselves surrounded by seven triangles made of dried grass/reeds, which form a star pattern. The triangles are surrounded by two more circles of dried grass/reeds.
Previous documentation states: "Canadian woodland Indians, sweetgrass plagues." The Canadian Woodland Indians is a broad term that encompasses most of the First Nations in Eastern Canada, however, they can loosely be divided into Algonquian-speaking peoples and Iroquoian-speaking peoples, hence why both tribal designations are mentioned above.
