Description

Inside Jacob Greenstein's pharmacy, 1941. He was Pinole's first pharmacist. Located near the southeast corner of Tennent and San Pablo avenues. It was called the Downer Building. Upstairs were the offices of Dr. Manuel Fernandez, Pinole's beloved physician. Downstairs was Jacob Greenstein's Pharmacy, later Snyder's Pharmacy in the 1950s. Jacob Greenstein in his drug store on San Pablo Avenue, serving Ed Ebsen, owner and editor of the Pinole Weekly Times, in the late 1930s.
