FARIA PHOTOS - Faria house move 2005

Description

The move of the Faria House to downtown Pinole in 2005 was a citywide event that attracted numerous onlookers along its one-mile journey. Hoisted onto a flatbed truck, the 1880 home built for the son and daughter-in-law of Dr. Samuel J. Tennent inched its way north down Tennent Avenue before turning west on San Pablo Avenue, on the way to its new residence in Heritage Park. The vacant building, photographed by Larry Neptune, was recently painted, and the Pinole Garden Club tends to its rose bushes.
