Description

GOLDEN WEST HOTEL: Cipriano Silvas and his wife, Maria Rosario Alvarado Silvas, built the hotel in the early 1900s on the southwest corner of Tennent and San Pablo avenues, one of Pinole’s Four Corners, known as such for the bars on each corner. Cipriano’s brother, Jimmy, ran the bar on the first floor. The building later housed the Joe Lunghi Trovatore Café, which served Italian food and had a bar, and the Town Tavern. The Pump House convenience store and gas station is there now.
