WALTON LIVERY

Description

Walton Livery had a thriving business into the 20th century. The first taxi service in Pinole was located on Tennent Avenue between San Pablo Avenue and Fernandez Park. A major part of its business involved picking up travelers from the Pinole Southern Pacific depot in a horse-and-buggy and delivering them to their destinations. The livery also supplied carriages for funerals. Park Place, a commercial/residential complex next to the Pinole Youth Center, is on this site today.
