Pinole Senior Center OpeningDescription
Years of planning came to fruition when Pinole Mayor Ann Williams (with microphone) presided over the dedication of the Pinole Senior Center on November 23, 1991. The center has an array of activities and services for seniors throughout West Contra Costa County.
Marge Doty (wearing corsage) dedicated herself to serving her community and was instrumental in the construction of the Pinole Senior Center. She served in a variety of capacities on the Pinole Area Senior Foundation board, of which she was a founding member. She won awards from the City of Pinole, Rotary, and the Contra County Board of Supervisors. She was very interested in community politics and was well known for her presence at city council meetings and other community gatherings. She had a quiet influence on local politics, evidenced by the calls and visits of aspiring local politicians who sought her endorsement. Marge died on Thanksgiving Day 2008, leaving a legacy of unparalleled service to her community.Copyright
