Name/Title

Buckley Ranch

Description

BUCKLEY RANCH: In the early 1900s, the Joseph Buckley Ranch covered 150 acres, encompassing much of the land from San Pablo Avenue down to San Pablo Bay. The Buckleys bought the ranch property from Carolyn Brandt after her husband, Frederick, died. The Buckley home was at the end of what is now Primrose Lane. The Buckley family had lived in Pinole since moving from Oakland in the early 1890s. Private homes, condominiums, and apartments now reside on the former Buckley ranch on Primrose Lane, Primrose Court, and Lopes Court. Mabel Buckley, one of Joseph’s daughters, married LeRoy (Roy) LeFebvre in 1910 and had five children. Their descendants live in Pinole to this day.
