Pinole’s first high school, which opened in 1967, was torn down in 2015 to make way for the construction of the new, state-of-the art Pinole Valley High School, the jewel of the West Contra Costa Unified School District.
The $230-milion facility, which contains a 700-seat theater, opened in August 2019.
Earl Combs, an expert photographer, who as a contractor helped construct the original Pinole Valley High School, chronicled the demolition of the original school and the construction of the new school.Copyright
