George’s parents were Emily and George Vincent. George R. Vincent followed his mother into teaching and taught for 42 years in local schools. He was a good baseball player, hitting .340 for the Pinole Merchants semi-pro team in 1966. He and his wife, Christie, have three children. He was the first president, in 1968, of the Pinole Historical Commission. In 1995, he was selected as one of West Contra Costa’s “Teachers of the Year.” He has written several books on local history and families and was a co-founder of the Pinole Historical Society in 1974.Made/Created
