Description

Miss Mary Kelly taught at the school in 1884. She was the school’s first woman teacher. Manuel Fernandez, son of Bernardo Fernandez and later to be Dr. Fernandez, was a 7th grader in her class. She taught all grades from first to eighth. She was paid $65 a month.
