610 Quinan Street (Linda Lopes Rosedahl)Description
Home at 610 Quinan Street was built in 1890 by Bernardo Fernandez. He sold it to Henry Taylor for 10 gold pieces. When Henry died, he left it to a niece, Sarah Alvarez. When she died in 1943, it went into her estate, and Mechanics Bank, which owned the mortgage, sold it to Antone Sr. in 1943. E.M. Downer Jr., son of the owner of Mechanics Bank and then the bank's president, urged Antone to bid on it. Antone had been the gardener at the Downer Mansion when E.M. Downer was a young boy. Antone bought the home and the lot next door, on which he gave to Antone Jr. The home built on that lot is the one Linda and Patti grew up in. Linda now lives her grandfather's old home.
Antone Lopes Sr. came to Pinole in 1906 from his native Portugal. He was 27 when he came to Pinole. Antone died in 1957. Rosalina died in 1951. Lopes lane and Lopes Court are named after the Lopes family. Tony Jr., father of Linda Rosedahl and Patti Clark, died in April 2008.Copyright
