Three Brothers Hardware/Blue Sky Sports: Rene, Lucien, and Louis de la Briandais opened a service station and a sixteen unit auto court on their father’s ten acre property on the north side of San Pablo Avenue, just east of Appian Way. Then they built an appliance/ hardware store called Three Brothers.
On August 1, 1989, Gregg Fehr, who had started a screen-printing business in his El Sobrante home’s garage in 1980 and had small Blue Sky Sports stores in several locations in the city, moved into the former Three Brothers hardware store. He opened the immensely popular batting cages in 1992.
Gregg retired and closed Blue Sky Sports at the end of 2020.Copyright
