Description

The barber is Benjamin Christian. Benjamin's daughter was Mildred Christian. She married William Neylan. They lived in Plum Street, near St. Joseph's Church. Their son, Elmer P. Neylan, age 94 as of November 2013, gave us this photo. He lives at 1125 Arlington Boulevard, El Cerrito, CA 94530. As a child he lived across from the church. The photo was taken in 1935. The area in the photo is what is now the back wall of Antlers Tavern.
