Downtown from Summit DriveDescription
DOWNTOWN FROM SUMMIT DRIVE: A 1970s photo taken from approximately the same location shows a grove of eucalyptus trees protecting the site of the beloved Pinole-Hercules School #1, which was demolished in 1968, and a modern downtown with a thriving business district. Quinan Street is one of the few areas in the city that has been preserved; sadly, many historic structures were torn down in the name of progress. The once-barren hills in the background are dotted with homes.Copyright
