Villalobos house (Prather): In the 1950s, the Villalobos family lived on the edge of Pinole Creek where it enters the bay. Jose Villalobos was a kind, Spanish-speaking widower with six children. Jose worked on the S.P. railroad and rented from the Fernandez family. A plank sidewalk lay across the marsh to his home. The house had an outhouse and was a patchwork of salvaged materials. Jose was a hard worker who helped fishermen and duck hunters launch their boats.
