2530 SP Ave. Arthur (Jerry) McDonald HomeDescription
MCDONALD HOME: Township 11 Constable Arthur (Jerry) McDonald gained his fame in death. He died in a hail of machine-gun bullets in 1929, shot by members of the Fleagle Gang, who were robbing the Rodeo branch of the Bank of Pinole. He and his brother, Fred, owned a men’s clothing store on Tennent Avenue. Later in 1929, the Fleagle Gang robbed the First National Bank in Lamar, Colorado. By 1930, all members of the Fleagle Gang had either been killed in shootouts or executed after being found guilty in Colorado trials. Today, McDonald’s Queen Anne-style home at 2350 San Pablo Avenue, built in 1898, remains a private residence.Copyright
