Description

The First Methodist Episcopal Church built a wooden structure in 1898 at 2131 San Pablo Avenue. When the church built its second home on Valley Avenue, the building was sold to the Order of the Knights of Pythias, a men’s fraternal organization and secret society founded in 1864. The Pythian Knights (inset) met in “Pythian Castles,” hence the local name in Pinole. This building now houses the Dennis L. Lorette Accountancy Corporation.
